Tony Jeffreys ( Club Secretary )
My
grandson and I joined the Club in 1990, he had a Pit Bull Terrier &
I had a seven Year old Doberman, unfortunately my grandson left the
club but I stayed with Jade.
I
got my first agility dog in October 1991, he was a Heinz 57, the
only puppy of a one parent family! I started Shep at the Club’s
agility training venue at Harwood Hall, Upminster in 1993. Shep was
not very quick but was an accurate jumper and won many rosettes
despite having a cataract in one eye, he qualified for the very
first Agility Club Starters Agility Challenge final in 1997 at “Dogs
in Need”, Ipswich and came seventh in the final with a clear round.
I
was elected to the committee in 1992 and was elected Secretary in
1994 and have remained on the committee ever since.
I
purchased my current dog Zali from Stephanie a former Club member in
July 1996, Zali is a Working Sheep dog/ Border Collie, I commenced
training her at the Club’s then venue at Lower Park Farm and also
Aldborough Hall. Zali also qualified for the Agility Club Starters
Agility Challenge final in 2000 but was eliminated in the final.
Last year Zali started running under jumps so I think she was
telling me that it was time to call it a day for both of us.
